After adjusting its timeline for the last remaining tests of the Artemis II space launch system and Orion capsule because of freezing cold temperatures in Florida, NASA is now pressing ahead in preparation for launch.

If the fueling test goes well, the Artemis II flight around the moon and back could take off as early as Feb. 8.

NASA plans to run its final launch test for Artemis II Monday in preparation for the Sunday launch of the first manned trip to the moon since 1972.

After all the tests, the astronauts are expected to fly nearly 5,000 miles beyond the far side of the moon, the furthest any humans have ever gone into space.
